All our communication technologies appear to be stable for the time being, which gives us the breathing room necessary to research better, cheaper, more reliable alternatives ... like walkie talkies, two-way television sets, morse code, the fucking post office, ANYTHING ... but clearly land lines and DSL are not the answer. Since reconnecting to the machine, Lori and I have been busy with a variety of very important, exciting secret projects that if you don't already know about then they're none of your business. If they succeed, you'll hear about them, probably on the news.

Michael Rodriguez was recently in town for the big librarian convention, so Lori and I spent some quality time with him over the weekend. Ol' Tyson stopped by the Little Red Hen while we were gassing up and snapped these candids.

As soon as the computer got fixed our phone line went down. So I'm still offline, still angry and still posting from the temp job offices. Fuck the grid.

My Last Email

The planes did not go down, although I drank enough bourbon on my four flights that if any of them did, I wouldn't have noticed. Everything went as smoothly as possible, although my grandfather broke his hand the morning of the funeral and didn't want to bother anyone, so nobody realized how bad his injury was til later that night.

Thanks to everyone who conveyed condolensces. The computer at home is fucked, so it'll be a few more days til I get caught up on a lot of stuff. More soon.

PS. The Seger Liberation Army material is finally finished and heavy as hell.

My grandmother, Wilka Storz, died on Friday. Thus I'll again be flying ... first to Michigan, then driving to Missouri, then driving back to Michigan, then flying back to Seattle. Since this is a delicate time for all of us, I'll refrain from complaining about this somewhat inefficient travel arrangement and default to my usual pre-air message to all of my friends ... if my plane goes down, then that's proof that I'm right, facing one's fears leads only to death.
